BA Photo: The most important Art Fair specialized in Photography in Latin America

Pay attention travelers and lovers of photography. If you are visiting Buenos Aires on October and you are interested in photography dont miss BA Photo. The most important Art Fair specialized in Photography in Latin America will take place  at La Rural Exhibition Center, from October 13th through October 16th, 2016. On this fair you can take a tour from the history of photography to discover the contemporary photographic art.

With more than ten years the fair is a point of reference for the photography Latin American and a place of meeting between artists, curators, critical, journalists and new collectors. This exhibition brings together the works from more than 30 art galleries from Argentina and different countries.

The new edition of BA Photo 2016 program 

• Out of Focus 

It is a solo project section designed for the exploration of different procedures, languages, and materials that are available to photography.

• Wunderkammer

It is dedicated to heritage photography. It celebrates its second Edition with a selection of antique pieces from daguerreotypes and ambrotypes to family albums of early 20th century photography. It also takes on the challenge of putting value in historical photographic material and documentary.

• Links Project

It is a space that strengthens curatorial practices in photography in Argentina. Ariel Authier is the guest curator of this edition.

• Videoproject

Jasmine Adler made the curator who convened a group of artists specialized in videoart.

• Special Rooms

A new section of international galleries curated by José Antonio Navarrete.

• Photobook Tijuana

A section of publishers specializing in photography organized by the prestigious Tijuana Fair of Brazil. The invited publishers are:

• Guest Artist

The Brazilian photographer Claudia Andujar will be the guest artist in this year´s edition. It is renowned worldwide for her photos on the Yanomami culture.

• Honored artist

The Argentine photojournalist Juan Di Sandro will be the honored artist. Juan Di Sandro (1898-1988) occupies a prominent place in the history of photography in Argentina for his photojournalist work.
