The summer continues in Argentina ant there are different things to do in Buenos Aires. The advantage is that traffic is more agile and the rhythm of the city much more calm because there are many residents who travel to other cities for holidays.
Today we share you some of the proposals for tourists.
Things to do in Buenos Aires in Summer
1) Visit the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve
On a hot day you can visit the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve to enjoy nature on the banks of the Río de La Plata. With its 350 hectares it is the largest space green of the city of Buenos Aires. It is ideal for jogging, biking and to spend the day with family or enjoy solitude and reading a good book under the shade of a tree. Along the trails you can see different species of birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and native vegetation.
Admission is free and in summer it is open from 8 to 19 hours every day, except Mondays. (except holiday Mondays)
2) Go to Tigre and navigate through the Delta of the Paraná River
It is a classic of the summer in Buenos Aires since it allows to enjoy the city outdoors. We recommend strolling catamaran through the town of Tigre since it offers a panoramic view of the islands of the Delta. You can learn about the life in the Islands and about the flora and the fauna of the place. In addition you can perform several water sports.
3) Enjoy the parks and green spaces
The city has numerous parks and green spaces, ideal for enjoying the summer in the city. The most important are: Parque Centenario, Parque Saavedra, Parque Avellaneda, Parque Rivadavia, Parque Sarmiento. We recommend visiting the neighborhood of Palermo. Several places are located in this beautiful neighborhood to enjoy outdoor activities such as the Zoo, the Japanese garden, the Rose Garden and the Planetarium.
It is possible to attend cultural centers, theaters and museums during January and February with the advantage of enjoying the activities without public. On hot days a good option is to visit some of the museums of the city. We recommend to visit the MALBA, one of the most important museums (it has air conditioning) that houses one of the most important collections of art that include works of great artists of the century XX as Frida Kahlo, Roberto Matta, Diego Rivera and Xul Solar.TIP: On Wednesdays entry is half price and children of 5 years or less do not pay so it is a good plan to go with the family.
5) Guided tour of the Colón Theater
The Colón Theater (Tucumán 1171) is one of the best theaters in the world. It is world renowned for its acoustics and the artistic construction and comparable value with most important lyrical theaters of the world such as la Scala in Milan, the Opera in París, Vienna State Opera, Covent Garden in London and the Metropolitan Theater in New York.
