Rosario Latin American Film Festival

 

The Rosario Latin American Film Festival started on September 2. The city receives more than 150 films of Latin America that are distributed in several venues until the 11 of September.

If you are visiting Rosario and a cinema lover do not you miss this event that will be performing in Rosario. During ten days you will enjoy more than 150 films of Latin America accompanied by consecrated directors, producers, students and academic, with projections in different venues.

The Rosario Latin American Film Festival that is held until the 11 of September will showcase a programming to live an experience unique. Chosen between more than 600 realizations there is a selection of recent Latin American productions that come from countries as Chile, Paraguay, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba and Puerto Rico.

There will be competitions of short films and premieres of national and international films. On the other hand is stand out the section “Penumbras” of fantastic and terror cinema, “La memoria en su sitio” feature films for the debate and the reflection in the Museum of the Memory and the 16 ° Exhibition of Child and Youth Films in the districts of Rosario.

This audiovisual festival takes place since 1993 in the city of Rosario and emerged of the initiative of a group of filmmakers whose aim was to create a space to share experiences among filmmakers.

Opening Film

The Rosario Latin American Film Festival began with the projection of “El Limonero Real”, a film of Gustavo Fontán, adaptation of the novel of Juan José Saer, framed in the proposed of the Year Saer, intended to spread and celebrate the work of the writer. The function was held on Friday 2 of September at 8 pm in “El Cairo Cine Público”.

Cuba, guest country

The particularity of this year is that the guest country will be Cuba with classic titles such as “Memorias del Subdesarrollo”, “Vampiros en La Habana” and recent acclaimed productions: “Vestido de novia” and “Fátima o el Parque de la Fraternidad”.

Closing Film

At 43 years of the coup d’etat in Chile “Allende, my grandfather Allende” is the chosen film to close the festival. The film is a proposal of intimate family of Salvador Allende that retrieves images and memories of daily life, directed by his granddaughter Marcia Tambutti Allende. The function will be on Saturday 10 of September at 8 pm in “El Cairo, Cine Público” (Santa Fe 1120). The awards ceremony will take place at 9.30 pm.
